Travel Awards for National Scientific Meetings & Conferences
The FASEB MARC Program provides funding for travel awards to support the participation of Faculty/ Mentors and Students, and Poster/Oral Presenters at selected scientific meetings and conferences. The awards help to defray travel-related expenses (lodging, transportation, per diem) associated with meeting/conference attendance. In addition to the travel award, an allowance for meeting registration fees at the advance registration rate is provided. Travel awards are processed as reimbursements to the award recipients. An award recipient will be required to pay his/her meeting and travel-related expenses first, and then request reimbursement from the FASEB MARC Program Office after completion of the meeting/conference. There are two types of travel awards available:
Faculty/Students Travel Award - click here for application form
Each award provides funding for one faculty member/mentor and two graduate or undergraduate students from a minority institution to participate in one of the selected national meetings or conferences. (See listing of eligible meetings and conferences included in this brochure). The faculty/mentor must nominate two graduate or undergraduate students who are pursuing research careers in a life sciences discipline.
Poster/Oral Presenter Travel Award - click here for application form
Each award provides funding for one underrepresented minority graduate/undergraduate student or postdoctoral fellow who has been selected to give an oral or poster presentation at one of the selected national meetings or conferences
